Here is a knitting pattern for a felted bag and purse using Texere Troon Tweed aran. The yarn is used double for the bag meaning you'll have it knitted up in no time and the little purse only uses one ball - so great, quick gifts. The transformation of the non-felted bag when you take it out of the washing machine is brilliant and the rigidity of the bag means it doesn't even need lining! All the shades of Troon are marled or tweedy, so even if you don't want stripes you could achieve a lovely textured effect with very little effort.

Tapestry Canvas Collection

A fantastic selection of tapestry and needlepoint canvases with pre-printed designs ready to stitch with cross-stitch or half-cross-stitch.
The designs vary from contemporary geometric patterns and stylish art nouveau designs to more traditional pictoral images and are very simple to follow by matching the colours with your yarn.
Of course you could choose to use alternate colours in order to compliment your interior decor, or even stitch a completely different design over the top as if the canvas was blank!
The canvas is double-thread Sudan with 5 holes to the inch and each piece measures 49cm (19 inches) square with the printed design being 41cm (16 inches) square.
Stitch the designs with Axminster rug yarn or double up a DK knitting wool and these canvases will make excellent cushion fronts. Or treat each piece as "a blank canvas", paint your own design on the back and get stitching! We're just charging you for the canvas (you get the design free!!!) There are limited supplies so buy now while you can.

For medium canvas work & needlepoint using tapestry wool or Axminster. This canvas has good strength and is tightly woven, this means it can be trimmed close to the stitched area without unravelling.

We have recently acquired new stocks of all different types of rug canvas for all your needlepoint, tapestry and rugmaking needs.
100% cotton - 10 holes per inch in antique gold shade. Available in two sizes, but resulting in the same square meterage. Choose from narrow that is 45cm (18") wide and a minimum of 200cm long or wide that is 90cm (36") wide and a minimum of 100cm long.
For medium canvas work & needlepoint using tapestry wool or Axminster. Duo canvas has two threads running in each direction which means the stitched fabric has plenty of strength making it ideal for kneelers and items that need to be hardwearing.
Perfect for making into kneelers & cushions.
