Medium - Warp (also suitable for weft)

Islay by Texere - wool & nylon mix
Islay is spun from 90% wool with 10% nylon for strength making it an excellent yarn for all types of crafts. It is available in a wide range of bright colours with a gentle hint of natural lustre. Islay is particularly good for weaving in both the warp and weft (with approx 15 ends per cm or 38 eds per inch), and is also ideal for tapestry and tablet weaving. It will make strong braids and cords and can be used for different types of jewellery and knotting. Knit or crochet into very fine wraps, throws and accessories. 2/16wc, 18/2nm or approx 1ply (or laceweight) with 1620m per cone, making it similar, but much finer than Jura.

**Whilst Islay is a yarn we can continue to buy on a regular basis, we are not always able to repeat exact shades from batch to batch, so order enough for your project as there are no dye lots, and some shades my go out of stock for some time.

This is a gorgeous multi coloured polyester gimp yarn in a dark and moody colour range. Now available with a healthy discount when buying larger quantities.
Knit as a fine 2ply or weave in the warp or weft.

These space-dyed colours range from dry sands and earthy tones through to intense blues and rich sunsets.
An excellent weaving yarn and also use on a standard gauge knitting machine.

Prism: pure viscose yarn
A vibrant pure viscose yarn ideal for embroidery, braid making & many other textiles. Available on cones, spools and skeins.
100% viscose rayon twisted floss. Hand wash, dry flat, cool iron.
Approx. 4ply thickness - 130m per spool, 520m per cone
Ideal for embroidery and braid making, and perfect for crochet, knitting and tassels as it has such fantastic drape. Highly lustrous, brightly coloured, filament yarn. Unfortunately we have had great difficulty obtaining stocks of this yarn and have had to make the difficult decision to discontinue the range. We still have stocks of all the colours showing on the website but if you need further information about a specific colour please do not hesitate to ask. Midget Gems: fine and fancy acrylic
A collection of fine and fancy, self-twist knop yarns. Midget Gems are made from a random mixture of polyester, viscose, acrylic and cotton producing some lovely textures and colourful yarns. As this is a collection, the yarns are of similar character which won't necessarily been the same thickness as each other, but all have thick and thin slubs and knops. Ideal for knitting in with another yarn, such as mohair to add a hint of colour and texture. Also brilliant for weaving in the weft and couching into embroideries.

Natural Pure Linen - Fine
A good, tough, natural coloured, recycled pure linen ideal for use as a warp, knotting and macrame.
100% Pure Natural Linen. We specialise in using recycled linen yarns to twist into our natural linen yarns. The weights of these vary from batch to batch along with the colour and character which may be lighter or darker, smooth or hairy. Hence the necessity for stating a wide ranging meterage of yarn on these spools. Please ensure you order enough linen to complete your project as we cannot guarantee that the next batch will be exactly the same. If you require a regular, repeatable linen we suggest choosing the Dublin which is made to our specifications with first quality linen.
Fine twist - minimum 400g - over 1500m - approx 18 ends per inch
Suitable for home dyeing - you will receive a slightly muted shade as the linen has quite a lot of natural colour, but this makes for interesting, subtle effects.

Skye Two

An unusual blend of mulberry silk, cotton and cashmere. These noil yarns are soft handling, rough looking and filled with character.

90% Mulberry Silk, 5% Cotton Nepps and 5% Cashmere. Wash gently by hand in warm water with soap or detergent - can be dry cleaned. Don't wring out or agitate too much and dry flat.
10/2nm - 480m per cone - Knit as 3ply.
Use as seen or dye with acid dye to colour the silk, but leave the cotton untouched giving unique cross-dyeing effects.
The blend of fibres results in a yarn with good breaking strength and little stretch making it good to weave in the warp or weft.

A pure bleached tussah silk noil ideal for weaving. This is soft handling, rough looking and a character filled demi-lustre thread.
100% Wild Silk bleached to a honey colour. Wash gently by hand in warm water with soap or detergent - can be dry cleaned. Don't wring out or agitate too much and dry flat.

Suitable for home dyeing as the yarn is bleached - the result will be subtle heathery shades.
