Willow by Texere - 70% merino wool and 30% fine alpaca

We don't know the exact origin of this yarn, other than it was destined for the organic range of a very well known yarn company. It's a luxurious blend of 70% merino wool and 30% fine alpaca giving a lovely handle. We believe that it has been organically grown and dyed naturally using sustainable plant dyes - hence the soft palette of muted, natural shades. The yarn is a heavy DK and this could be the problem - not a standard ply. However, a bit of tweaking of any double knitting pattern and you should be fine.

Knit on 4.5mm pins to a tension of approx 19 stitches and 23 rows to a 10cm square.

As the yarn is light and chunky it goes an awful long way and will knit up quickly to most chunky patterns.

It is very soft to touch and when you look closely has other colours twisted into it to give extra depth. It should knit to most chunky patterns, but knit a tension square first or choose from the lovely patterns within the Mirasol Pattern books. Each season new colours are added as current shades are discontinued - these are marked with **.

Knit to most aran patterns, but knit a tension square first or choose from the lovely patterns within the Mirasol Pattern books. This is a gorgeous fairly traded pure superfine alpaca from Bolivia in a light double knitting weight perfect for sumptuous knitwear. 100% alpaca is free from lanolin making it hypo-allergenic, it's lovely and soft so soft perfect for anyone with allergies and sensitive skins. The range of colours is designed to appeal to knitters of all ages and there are six natural un-dyed colours and 14 solid dyed colours to choose from. Inca Mist & Cloud are exactly the same weight, so use either yarns for patterns from either range.

Alamo Alpaca - Silver
A chunky thickness deluxe alpaca and mohair blend yarn ideal for knitting and weaving
44% alpaca, 44% mohair and 12% acrylic for extra strength. Hand wash, dry flat and brush lightly when dry.
Knit as chunky on 4.5mm - 5mm needles - 800m per cone.
Knit or weave in the weft to produce soft, fluffy, but hardwearing fabrics.
