Union Jack Bag Pattern

Union Jack Bag Pattern

£2.00

What better way to show your dedication to British farmers, sheep and yarns than by making a union flag bag?! The red, white and blue really says everything you need it to say, but if you fancy being more individual play around with subtle or wacky colour and texture combinations. Felting is a fun way to transform soft yarns into practical accessories by just throwing them in the washing machine! Texere Troon Tweed is spun in oil, so knits very easily and totally changes when washed. Texere Airedale Aran is softer, without flecks and felts even easier. Try combining the two for unusual textures & effects.
This pattern has two designs included - red-white-blue & Green style bags

Cashmerino Chunky by Debbie Bliss

This gorgeous yarn is a blend of 55% merino wool, 33% microfibre and 12% cashmere. It's a standard chunky weight yarn, perfect for luxurious and soft winter hand knits. However, it is a discontinued line and when it's gone, it's gone! So buy now while you have the chance! There is a small range of contemporary, rich shades that are ideal for cosy jackets and sweaters, snuggly hats and accessories or what about a sumptuous throws to cuddle under on a cold winter night? Go on, treat yourself!

Eco Baby Cotton Yarn by Debbie Bliss

Debbie Bliss began her Fairtrade Collection with Eco aran and here is the new arrival to the range - Eco Baby. The cotton yarn is a heavy 4ply/light DK (the same as her famous baby cashmerino). It has been manufactured from 100% organic cotton with an ecologically and socially conscious process through the Bio Re textile chain. The cotton yarn is dyed with non toxic, non carcinogenic dyes and the water is recycled and rendered drinkable by Idra (a non profit making organization). This dyeing process has given Debbie the opportunity to have a wonderfully vibrant palette still within the organic concept. Organic cotton yarns are notoriously difficult to produce, so it's brilliant to have a bright, colourful yarn with such ethical credentials.

Donegal Luxury Tweed Chunky by Debbie Bliss

The colour combinations are rich and vibrant, all packed full with tweeds and textures in a wide colour palette. Debbie has created some fantastic pattern books featuring Luxury Tweed including "The Big Easy", "Winter Essentials" and "Donegal Tweed" which features both the chunky and aran weights of luxury tweed. Treat yourself by knitting something sumptuous that will be a treasured piece for years to come.

Debbie Bliss Magazine Spring/Summer 2010
Debbie Bliss Magazine Spring/Summer 2010
This is the fourth magazine by Debbie Bliss and once again she has produced a beautiful issue to get us into that springtime feel. She says, "The new Spring issue of my magazine has a personal feel to it as last year my daughter Nell and I stayed with friends on Long Island and the beautiful light, relaxed ambience and stunning views inspired the fashion feature Creme de la Creme, relaxed knits for the perfect weekend, in classic shades of cream and stone. In keeping with the coastal theme the home section Hamptons Home has nautical style throws, cushions, bunting and a great carry bag for the beach. Top Tanks features sophisticated knits which are perfect to give a touch of class to your holiday wardrobe. In contrast to the pale beauty of the East Coast we have Moroccan Sunset, a collection of knits shot in the sun drenched desert of North Africa, in my earth and people friendly organic Fairtrade yarn Eco Aran. I have also launched a finer version of the aran weight Eco Baby which is soft against a child's skin and therefore perfect for Pure and Simple, four easy knits in summery sorbet shades for toddlers. There are 35 knits, 18 new designs and some of the most popular styles from previous collections plus the regular features and new ones such as a fascinating article on knitting in Elizabethan England." Eco Aran and Eco Baby are both available from Texere as well as Debbie’s classic tweeds for sumptuous wintery knitwear.

Donegal Tweed by Debbie Bliss
Donegal Tweed by Debbie Bliss
The Donegal Tweed collection is a range of elegant knits that encompass all the key silhouettes - sleek and tailored, generous and cosy. Debbie has used all her favourite classic stitches but interpreted them in a contemporary style, with city slicker jackets in the aran weight and enveloping coats in the chunky. Since this book was published Debbie has introduced the Luxury Tweeds to her range and these knit to exactly the same tensions as these original Donegal Tweeds. You could also use any standard chunky or aran yarns such as our Texere Chunky Wool, Airedale Aran,Troon Tweed Aran or any of the budget aran and chunkies we have available. Perfect for some timeless and classic designs regardless of the yarn you choose. £7.50

The Big Easy by Debbie Bliss
The Big Easy by Debbie Bliss
As you may have guessed from the title this is a pattern book crammed with generous shaped garments that are perfect for slouching around in at the weekend. It's the first of Debbie's books to introduce the Luxury Tweed range and also uses chunky yarns such as Como and Alpaca Silk aran. The 13 designs are texture-packed coats, jackets and cardigans, snuggly sweaters, luxurious legwarmers and the funky cape coat. With the exception of the Como designs all the other garments use standard weight aran and chunky thickness yarns. Of course we sell the Luxury Tweeds, but if you fancy an alternative there is our own Texere Chunky Pure Wool or luxurious Airedale Aran and Troon Tweed Aran. The Como is a lightly spun wool blend which Twilley's Freedom Wool is very similar to - it's not quite as luxurious, but comes in a fabulous colour range and makes a great substitute. £7.50
