Union Jack Bag Pattern

Union Jack Bag Pattern

£2.00

What better way to show your dedication to British farmers, sheep and yarns than by making a union flag bag?! The red, white and blue really says everything you need it to say, but if you fancy being more individual play around with subtle or wacky colour and texture combinations. Felting is a fun way to transform soft yarns into practical accessories by just throwing them in the washing machine! Texere Troon Tweed is spun in oil, so knits very easily and totally changes when washed. Texere Airedale Aran is softer, without flecks and felts even easier. Try combining the two for unusual textures & effects.
This pattern has two designs included - red-white-blue & Green style bags

White Linen

A tough, white, recycled pure linen ideal for use as a warp, knotting and macrame.
Pure Natural Linen. We specialise recycling linen yarns to twist into our yarns. The weights of these vary from batch to batch along with the colour and character which may be white or cream, smooth or hairy. Hence the necessity for stating a wide ranging meterage of yarn on these spools.

DY Linen Yarns for Dyeing
DY Special Purchase
A collection of linen yarns in various thicknesses, textures and blends, all perfect to dye. Linen and linen blend yarns need a Procion, Fibre Reactive or Cold Water dye for best results. Please note that all "DY" yarns are unrepeatable - we may have very large stocks of some qualities and smaller stocks of other, but all are at amazing prices.

C4 Linen Collection

This is a fabulous recycled pure linen yarn in lots of fabulous colours with a 24% discount when buying bulk quantities. An excellent yarn for weaving in the warp and weft, macrame and braiding, knitting and crochet. This strong yarn is also excellent for braids and tassels and any project needing a strong yarn in rich, muted shades or subtle neutrals. The yarn is fairly crisp and has little drape making it excellent for knitting or crocheting into vessels, placements and bags.

However, knit or crochet it into garments, throw in the washing machine and tumble drier and it transforms into a soft, wearable yarn. We've also designed a brilliant string bag to create your very own "bag for life". One spool will make two bags - see the patterns section of the site for more details.

Originally this yarn was 4 fold 10's metric. However, there were only 5 shades (Connemara) and there was demand for more colours. We have now added more, but some of these recent yarns are finer than the originals. This means that the yarns may, in some cases, be of differing thicknesses from colour to colour - equivalent to approx 10/4 - 10/3nm and the meterage per spool is between 900m-1200m.

Connemara Linen

Large size cones for bulk requirements now available in five of the shades of this strong linen. This yarn is excellent for warps and wefts and the large cones are an easy and very economical way of working, saving you over 75%!!
Pure linen with a good natural sheen. A fine single yarn - 10/1nm - approx 250m per spool and approx 9000m per cone.
For weaving in the warp or weft. This strong yarn is also excellent for lacemaking, braids and tassels and any project needing a strong yarn in rich, muted shades or subtle neutrals.
Although this is a bargain offer we have quite a large stock of the cones, but at this new price they won't last long. The equivalent cost of a cone based on the spool price would be £40, so take advantage of this fantastic saving. Cones are a minimum of 900g, but may be more.

Natural Pure Linen - Fine
A good, tough, natural coloured, recycled pure linen ideal for use as a warp, knotting and macrame.
100% Pure Natural Linen. We specialise in using recycled linen yarns to twist into our natural linen yarns.
