A collection of silk yarns in various thicknesses, textures and blends, all perfect to dye. Unusually silk and silk blend yarns can be dyed with either Procion, Fibre Reactive, Acid or Hot and Cold Water dyes - please check dye instructions before proceeding. Please note that all "DY" yarns are unrepeatable - we may have very large stocks of some qualities and smaller stocks of other, but all are at amazing prices. |
|  | Regency Silk Palettes
Silk Palettes have been created from the shades of Regency 100% Spun Silk. They have been carefully selected to create five gorgeous ranges of complimentary shades ideal for project work. Spun silk is the classical thread for both hand and machine embroidery and will add a touch of luxury to any piece of work. Also use in tassels and braids for superior lustre and perfect for delicate weaving and lacemaking. These packs make the perfect gift for the discerning textile artist. Nine spools, each 50m, totalling 450m per pack. |

 | Mirasol Tupa
The success of the Mirasol Project has lead to three gorgeous new fairly traded yarns being added to the range and Tupa is the most luxurious one. This is fabulous double knitting hand dyed knitting yarn spun from a beautiful combination of 50% merino wool and 50% silk in a vibrant range of lustrous shades. Knit to most DK patterns, but knit a tension square first or choose from the lovely patterns within the Mirasol Pattern books. Each season new colours are added as current shades are discontinued - these are marked with **.

 | Mirasol Sulka
Sulka is one of the Mirasol Collection of fairly traded yarns from Peru. It is a gorgeous chunky weight, lightly spun knitting yarn made from a luxurious combination of 60% merino wool, 20% alpaca and 20% silk in a lovely range of dark and dramatic colours. It is very soft to touch and when you look closely has other colours twisted into it to give extra depth. It should knit to most chunky patterns, but knit a tension square first or choose from the lovely patterns within the Mirasol Pattern books. Each season new colours are added as current shades are discontinued - these are marked with **. |
|  | Roma Spun Silk: Italian pure spun silk
A beautiful Italian pure spun silk perfect for embroidery, weaving, braids and tassels. We've just added to the range, so there is now an even wider palette - more than 50 shades.
Pure spun silk
120/4nm or 60/2nm (these are the same resultant count as each other), plus we have some finer 100/2nm. All the spools have approx 550m regardless of thickness.
Perfect for hand or machine embroidery, weaving in the warp or weft, or for delicate braids and tassels.
This silk has a gorgeous natural sheen which adds a lovely gleam to your work - the height of luxury. The images were taken without a flash, so there's no reflection, but this allows for a more accurate representation of colour. |

Loads of new colours have just been added to this range. Bourette silk in a wide range of rich and dramatic colours.
Pure Silk. (The few silk marls have wool, linen or viscose twisted with them).
13/1nm - approx 520m per spool
A perfect yarn for weaving in the weft, braid making, lace making and embroidery.
A unique unrepeatable yarn, but more colours will be discovered and added to the range when we have ploughed through the rest of the cartons in our warehouse!! Some of the shades that have just been found are a marled mixture with two yarns twisted together and these are somewhat thicker than the Dynasty (approx 200m per spool). |
