BEGINNERS SPINNING WITH CAROL & PETE LEONARD
04.06.11 MORNING WORKSHOP (10am-12.30pm)

Learn to spindle spin - an introductory course for complete beginners. Learn how to manipulate fibre, to create and then ply a yarn from wool tops using a top whorl spindle. The final yarn can then be knitted, woven, used in embroidery or feltmaking.

£26 (includes wool fibres to get you started).

If you have any wool fibres that you would like to try and spin, please bring them along.

You will come away with a new found skill and lots of samples of spun singles or plied yarns.

ADVANCED SPINNING WITH CAROL & PETE LEONARD
04.06.11 AFTERNOON WORKSHOP (1.30pm-4pm)

Go further with spindle spinning - trying different spindles and fibres. This session looks at different weights of spindle and what is appropriate for which fibre, together with tips on spinning the fibres, and how to treat the yarn you create.

You will need some experience of spinning on a hand spindle before attempting this class, but if you took the morning workshop and found you had a natural gift then why not keep going into the afternoon?

£28 (includes wool, silk, mohair and alpaca fibres).

If you have any fibres that you would like to try and spin, please bring them along and transform them into some unique yarn!

You will come away with improved skills and more advanced techniques, plus lots of samples of spun singles or plied yarns created from a blend of assorted natural fibres.
