As the yarns are so different from each other the fibre content is a wide spectrum of viscose, polyester and acrylic blends.
The yarns are full of texture and character as there are loops, gimps, ribbons, chenilles, slubs and tasselly bits throughout!
It is impossible to give a meterage for each yarn as they are so different, but they are probably anywhere between 100m - 200m per cone.
Perfect to add drama and texture to embroidery, tassels, weaving and knitting. Two of the collection are the last few kilos of discontinued fancy BMS yarns. These are the 82% Mohair Hedgerow and the Kid Mohair and Silk blend of Cocoon - two fantastic yarns at a fraction of their original
| We don't know the exact origin of this yarn, other than it was destined for the organic range of a very well known yarn company. It's a luxurious blend of 70% merino wool and 30% fine alpaca giving a lovely handle. We believe that it has been organically grown and dyed naturally using sustainable plant dyes - hence the soft palette of muted, natural shades. The yarn is a heavy DK and this could be the problem - not a standard ply. However, a bit of tweaking of any double knitting pattern and you should be fine.
Knit on 4.5mm pins to a tension of approx 19 stitches and 23 rows to a 10cm square. | This is a glorious, smooth and lustrous 98% mohair yarn (with just 2% nylon that's added when spinning) that has never left Yorkshire! The angora goats live on a farm less than 50 miles from Texere Yarns and live a happy life roaming around the farm getting shorn twice a year when their hair gets to about 150mm in length. (This is as free range and organic as it gets!) There are no air miles here, just a little journey round West Yorkshire as the fibre is scoured and carded in Halifax, spun in Bradford, dyed in Huddersfield, balled in Wakefield, then it's sold from our mill back here in Bradford! The yarn has a lovely handle - it's soft, strong, warm and nowhere near as hairy as traditional brushed mohair. Knit or crochet to most DK patterns, but just double check your tension first.

3.3/1nm - approx 330m per cone. Some recent additions are slightly thicker and are 2 fold.
All the yarns in the range are spun from one main colour with lots of coloured nepps and flecks, making them dense and rich with lots of character. However, there are so many colours in some of the shades that they have been a little tricky to scan - especially bark which is made up of lots of colours to produce an overall rich, deep colour.

A beautiful Italian pure spun silk perfect for embroidery, weaving, braids and tassels. We've just added to the range, so there is now an even wider palette - more than 50 shades.
Pure spun silk
120/4nm or 60/2nm (these are the same resultant count as each other), plus we have some finer 100/2nm. All the spools have approx 550m regardless of thickness.
Perfect for hand or machine embroidery, weaving in the warp or weft, or for delicate braids and tassels.
This silk has a gorgeous natural sheen which adds a lovely gleam to your work - the height of luxury. The images were taken without a flash, so there's no reflection, but this allows for a more accurate representation of colour. |

We have had lots of enquiries for fine cotton and here is a special purchase of limited supplies of both ercerised and soft cotton yarns. The Emperor mercerised is very similar to Perle 12.
100% Pure Cotton
2/16cc - 1350m per cone. Both yarns are exactly the same count, however the mercerised looks slightly thinner as it has a slightly tighter twist.
The Emperor is perfect for weaving in the warp or weft and we would recommend the King for weft. Both will give you soft, lightweight fabrics with a lovely drape. Also excellent for delicate lacemaking and embroidery, crochet and knitting, braids and tassels.
As we bought the yarn from a company called Penguin we have named the mercerised cotton "Emperor" and the soft cotton "King" for clear identification. |

This is a fabulous recycled pure linen yarn in lots of fabulous colours with a 24% discount when buying bulk quantities. An excellent yarn for weaving in the warp and weft, macrame and braiding, knitting and crochet. This strong yarn is also excellent for braids and tassels and any project needing a strong yarn in rich, muted shades or subtle neutrals. The yarn is fairly crisp and has little drape making it excellent for knitting or crocheting into vessels, placements and bags.
However, knit or crochet it into garments, throw in the washing machine and tumble drier and it transforms into a soft, wearable yarn. Originally this yarn was 4 fold 10's metric. However, there were only 5 shades (Connemara) and there was demand for more colours. We have now added more, but some of these recent yarns are finer than the originals. This means that the yarns may, in some cases, be of differing thicknesses from colour to colour - equivalent to approx 10/4 - 10/3nm and the meterage per spool is between 900m-1200m. |

These are dyed silk noils ideal for spinning and silk papermaking, adding to felt and needlefelting in a wide assortment of colours.
Pure tussah or mulberry silk
These are the same silk fibres that we use for the Spectrum packs, but some colours are going solo into individual bags of colour giving you larger amounts of single colours.
The fibres work particularly well for making luxurious, textured silk paper or card into wool fibres to add some lustre to felt making. They are also excellent for needlefelting.
We will be adding to the range constantly as more colours are bagged up. There are no guarantees that every Spectrum colour will be available individually depending on quantity, but hopefully it should be a nice, large range!! |

Fabulous new sale price with an amazing 40% discount. These are bags of thick rug wool (very similar to the 6ply Blue Fez we have sold) with one solid colour per bag in a jumble of longer lengths. We have added a mixed bag to the range which will have the best selection possible available. Each bag will be different and could vary from the image shown.
Lengths may vary from approx 2 inch upwards with the longer lengths being perfect for cutting and using in latch hook rug making. One of these bags is equivalent to approx 3000 pre-cut pieces of approx 2.5"/6.5cm in length, totalling approx 200m (but remember that will not be one continuous length).
