Texere Troon Aran Wool Felted Bag & Purse Knitting Pattern 004

Texere Troon Aran Wool Felted Bag & Purse Knitting Pattern 004

£1.50

Here is a knitting pattern for a felted bag and purse using Texere Troon Tweed aran. The yarn is used double for the bag meaning you'll have it knitted up in no time and the little purse only uses one ball - so great, quick gifts. The transformation of the non-felted bag when you take it out of the washing machine is brilliant and the rigidity of the bag means it doesn't even need lining! All the shades of Troon are marled or tweedy, so even if you don't want stripes you could achieve a lovely textured effect with very little effort.

Olympia Chunky by Texere Yarns
Olympia Chunky by Texere Yarns
This gorgeous yarn is spun from 100% lambswool and is available in the most delectable range of colourways. Olympia is a chunky, roving style yarn with glorious combinations creating marls and subtle colour blends throughout. It has the look of Rowan Colourscape or Noro Iro which are both chunky yarns, so you could knit to these patterns or any chunky pattern, just check your tension first. Being pure wool Olympia felts brilliantly to create thick, soft felted pieces. The yarn isn't a slub, but has a handspun feel with thicker and thinner sections to create a fabulous, slightly textured finish, meaning every garment will be unique. There can also be quite an amazing variation from batch to batch, so please ensure you order enough to complete your project as orders will be picked by eye because there are no dye lots. As with any colourspun yarn it is not possible use the air-splicing technique so the occasional knot will occur.

The low twist also means it's a fantastic yarn for felting and would make great bags and accessories.

**Unfortunately this yarn has now been discontinued - please contact us if you require stock details.**
Fleuris is a beautiful yarn created by Louisa Harding in a gorgeous blend of 70% bamboo and 30% wool. This combination has been spun into a chunky yarn that is shiny, drapey and fluid with a lovely twist for great stitch definition. There are lots of rich, warm colours plus faded shades for a dramatic contrast. Louisa has created a fabulous collection of designs using Fleuris, and its sister yarn Aimee, called Chinoiserie. Reflection Angoragold Batik with Metallic DK by Creative Yarns
Reflection Angoragold Batik with Metallic DK by Creative Yarns
Unfortunately the company who supply us with this yarn are no longer trading, so when it's gone, it's gone I'm afraid. We still have stocks of all the shades shown and we'll try and keep the website up to date as we sell out of shades.
This is a fantastic double knitting yarn with a light, soft, hairy feel spun from 10% mohair, 10% wool, 75% acrylic and 5% metallic. Fine mohair yarns are brilliant because although they knit as double knitting, they have the meterage of a much finer yarn (nearer a 3ply), so you only need a couple of balls for a garment! Reflection is a shaded yarn that gradually changes from one colour to another throughout you project, so you get a subtle and interesting effect without any effort. This metallic version has a fine twinkly thread running through it to add a bit of bling to your knitwear! Knit to the exclusive Creative Yarns designs or to any DK pattern, but check your tension first.

Willow by Texere - 70% merino wool and 30% fine alpaca

**Buy 10 Balls for £37**
We don't know the exact origin of this yarn, other than it was destined for the organic range of a very well known yarn company. It's a luxurious blend of 70% merino wool and 30% fine alpaca giving a lovely handle. We believe that it has been organically grown and dyed naturally using sustainable plant dyes - hence the soft palette of muted, natural shades. The yarn is a heavy DK and this could be the problem - not a standard ply. However, a bit of tweaking of any double knitting pattern and you should be fine.

Knit on 4.5mm pins to a tension of approx 19 stitches and 23 rows to a 10cm square.
